Nice cafe tucked away in Gerringong. Been here twice. Coffee is pretty good Good prices too. Breakfast wrap is awesome. The big breakfast is a great price. However the Portobello mushroom might be better replaced with smaller mushrooms. It wasn't really cooked fully. The homemade hash brown is not that crispy.
Everything else included was very nice.
Definitely worth a visit

Situated off the main street the foot traffic is a lot less intense at this cafe which makes the overall feel more relaxed then its counterparts on the main drag.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff and friendly and attentive.
The coffee is Toby’s Estate which is expertly crafted into your favourite cup by a very competent barista.
The food is hearty and well prepared using fresh ingredients. There isn’t anything really exciting on the menu, nothing out of the box as far as creative flare goes but it’s all your usual suspects.
It’s a great spot if you are ever in Gerringong and the value for money is pretty good too.

Good coffee, however, in my opinion, used a bit more than needed chocolat powder with sugar on a top.
Simple menu with choice of big brekky, smash avo, egg benny etc.
The bread was very dry. My husband was disappointed with hash brown, untasty.

We stopped by The Blue Goose for breakfast, eager to start the day with a good meal. The café had a spacious and inviting setting, with hand-drawn illustrations, including the café’s signature Blue Goose, adding a creative touch to the interior.
Food & Drinks
Feeling hungry, we ordered the Big Goose Breakie, a kids’ meal, and a few extras. The Big Goose Breakie was huge and filling, featuring poached eggs, juicy sausages, fried potatoes, a potato croquette, a creamy lecho-style dish, flatbread, and sourdough toast. The combination worked well, especially with the soft and flavorful sausages. However, the portion was so large that finishing it was a challenge, even though everything was delicious. Offering a smaller version, like a Regular Goose Breakie or a Kid Goose Breakie, could be a great addition to the menu for those who want a lighter meal.
The kids’ breakfast was just a fried egg with toast, which felt a bit too simple compared to the rest of the meal. A small side, like fruit or extra toast, would have made it more balanced.
For drinks, we went with freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. The orange juice was excellent, though it would have been nice if they had asked whether we wanted ice instead of adding it automatically. The coffee was very good, smooth, and well-balanced, making for a great start to the morning. We also tried a Raspberry Coconut Muffin, which was soft, not overly sweet, and absolutely delicious—definitely a highlight.
Final Thoughts
The Blue Goose delivers hearty, well-prepared breakfasts in a relaxed, welcoming space. The generous portions and fresh ingredients made for a great start to the day. While the kids’ meal could use more variety, and the option for a smaller portion of the Big Goose Breakie would be a great addition, overall, it’s a solid choice for a satisfying breakfast with a bit of personality.
