If I could give them Zero stars, I would. Worst sushi experience I have ever had. The rice is a gloppy mound which is super sticky. Purchased sashimi salmon and crab california roll and they were horrible. Tasted extremely fishy and not fresh. Felt sick all afternoon. I really hope I feel better soon and it's not food poisoning from them. Definitely do not recommend anyone eat from here....even if they give the sushi away for free, I don't recommend anyone eat it.

I have been eating here weekly for the last 3 years. I rate Akira Sushi so highly. It annoys me that some people tarnish the stores name with 1 star reviews after a bout of 'feeling sick' after having been here once.
I can say that every bit of food from here has always been excellent. Too many sushi snobs out there expect sushi to be a particular 'way'. Maybe they want a train and a japanese mariachi.
Akira doesn't muck around with expensive fancy sushi. It's the sushi that you want when you're hungry and you don't want the typical sushi prices to sting you. Their food is also fresh, tasty and has a good variety. Apart from the classics, like chicken teriyaki, katsu don, they have a really nice salmon udon salad with sesame dressing which is to die for, as well as the grilled salmon nigiri.
Jai and his team at Akira Sushi are so nice and I hope this place prospers as a well rounded, no fuss, delicious eatery.
