I have been attending Kiama Medical Centre for over 5 years, but have decided to change to another clinic. The doctors at Kiama are good doctors, but everyone runs late. The receptionists always look stressed and cannot often raise a smile. My main complaint though is with the T.V. It is always on and it is always on daytime television. Waiting in a doctors' surgery with loud, annoying T.V doesn't make sense. I would suggest turning it off. If anything, play gentle background music. Waiting to see a doctor is stressful enough. I don't believe, as patients, we need stimulus in the form of loud, obnoxious T.V.

On two occasions now, I have been referred to a costly specialist doctor when a free option would have been available had the GP done some very preliminary research. Sometimes I question whether their core goal is to help people that are unwell and vulnerable, or just bring in the $$$.

I have always been impressed by the team at Kiama Medical Practice. They all do their utmost to provide timely, caring and professional advice. If the Drs are running late it could be because other patients have run overtime, or there has been an emergency. Heartfelt appreciation to them all.

This practice has managed to recruit a faultless collection of brilliant GP's. Because they are so good, it is difficult to get an appointment, unless you are able to book days (or weeks) in advance. Blanks are left in the daily appointment scheduled so that emergency appointments can be made on the day.
They also have a group of great nurses in their practice clinic. Super thoughtful and vigilant.
